About Me

I was born in Beijing, China and lived there until I was 15 years old. Then I moved to Gatineau, Québec. Currently, I am living in Montreal. Refining the definition of happiness through appreciating everyday life.

I like to learn (human) languages too.

I appreciate languages not as a tool for communication but as a form of heritage of the evolving process of human history and culture.

Chinese

I am a native speaker of Mandarin and I enjoy writing in this beautiful language.

English

I graduated from an English-language CEGEP where I was exposed to English poetry, as well as American and English authors. Literature brought me profound joy and connection. During that time, I also had the pleasure of reading many literary masterpieces translated into English. Continuing my education at an anglophone university, I now prefer to use English when discussing topics related to computer science.

French

I moved to Quebec and completed high school in French, but my learning largely came from the people around me and countless social interactions. I believe there is a distinct sense of humor unique to Quebec French, which makes me feel very comfortable using the language when making new social connections.

Japanese

I started to understand Japanese at the age of 13 after watching a lot of Japanese animation during one summer vacation. My Japanese ability improved when I began listening to broadcast programs. Eventually, I was able to follow conversations and standard TV shows without subtitles. To further leverage this language, I took one year of Japanese courses at university. Now, I am able to read and write Hiragana and Katakana, carry out basic daily conversations with proper grammar, and understand the different implications of words based on their context.

Korean

I taught myself how to read Korean over a lazy afternoon. I can also understand basic words.

I play badminton.

My growing racket collection:

Yonex ArcSaber 6FL

My first racket. Nice balance, not so good looking but always reliable.

Yonex AstroX 55

It was a very soft and light racket to play with, I like the speed that it brings, very easy to use for female players like me, but unfortunately it was broken in a bad clash...

Yonex ArcSaber 7 Pro

Bought it from my friend without knowing how this racket feels like. It was definitely tougher than what I used to play with, but soon I am in love with the power and stability that this racket generates.
